Yoga and Technology - A Digital Divide?

For yoga students, teachers or wellness practitioners many of us are working to catch up and get online. For some of us this is a struggle. Maybe we are resistant to technology or don't know the tools or apps to use. And that's ok.

Maybe we don't believe TRUE yoga can be shared online.

But here's the thing.

We & our practice can thrive in these times. We just need to know a few keys and the tools to use.

And there's something even more important.

Yoga is a technology itself.

And Just like using a mala as a pretty decoration is watering down and missing the powerful point of mantra meditation, we too miss the opportunity of yoga online if we don't utilize this moment to practice and share the deep roots of yoga.

Technology used with yoga can be a mantra.

Mantra is a support for the mind. Technology, in this moment, is a vehicle that supports our minds, depending on how we use it.

We can utilize technology to support our one pointed experience.

This is so challenging - I know - in these times. We often use technology as an escape, distraction, or even something to feed our anxiety and fear. Its happening to me too.

I also know that this is an opportunity with technology to better embody our practice and serve our clients and students while also honoring yoga’s roots and supporting your own wellbeing.

Yoga and Wellness practitioners, as unbelievable and scary as it is, we and our practices are made for these times.

With a simple practice of technology as mindfulness we can become one with the medium.

We, the tool, the transmission, and the receiver are one.

This is yoga!

Technology becomes mantra.
