Teaching Online Strategically, Equitably and Effectively - Info and Webinar

Updated: Jun 18

For yoga students, teachers or wellness practitioners this is a challenging time. You may be struggling right now because you are being told you need to shut down classes and your studios are closing.

This is so challenging - I know - its happening to me too. I also know that this is an opportunity to better serve our clients and students while also honoring yoga’s roots and supporting your own wellbeing.

Yoga and Wellness practitioners, as unbelievable and scary as it is, we and our practices are made for these times.

You may be thinking about, starting to or going online but aren’t entirely sure how to do it well- or maybe you feel a little like you are throwing spaghetti at the wall. I get it.

I’d love to support you with what I’ve learned from a decade of doing online education.

I want to show you how to get set up online and honor yoga’s roots as we do.

In this sliding scale donation virtual fireside chat I will share best of what I've learned creating, educating, disrupting the industry and teaching online so we can navigate these changes while honoring yoga’s roots.

I'll light a candle and bring the fire! You grab your journal, and lets dive in together.

I believe in the power of collaboration, community and know that one thing we an do is we can create a more equitable and just yoga world together right now.

We have a unique opportunity to create equity with online engagement.

Equity is giving everyone what they need to be successful, taking into account the vast diversity of structural privilege, power and oppression, and life experience. Equity identifies and strives to eliminate blocks that have prevented some groups or people from participating fully.

Equality is the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities.

In this first webinar, you’ll learn the difference between equality and equity as well as what yoga offers us - beyond equality and even equity towards liberation - as well as concrete ways to bring this into your own online teaching now.

We explore:

  • What Norms you see online

  • Possibilities you may not have thought of

  • Many unique opportunities for equity as well as obstacles to avoid

  • How to teach well online

And we survey your online life and see how diverse it is and what you can do in your teaching to make it more inviting to more people - since now you can reach people everywhere!
